Lee is a highly experienced forensic investigator having investigated over 450 incidents in over 11 years working in the field. He has marine fire and explosion investigation experience on many types of vessels including container ships, tankers, chemical carriers, car carriers, yachts and passenger vessels in engine rooms, machinery spaces, cargo holds and accommodation areas. He also has wide ranging land based experience investigating fire and explosion incidents in commercial and domestic buildings, vehicles and aircraft. In addition Lee has considerable experience in the investigation of escapes of water and other fluids.

Lee holds a BEng honours degree in Civil Engineering in addition to a Masters degree in Fire Safety Engineering. He is a Chartered Fire Engineer registered with the Engineering Council in the UK through the Institution of Fire Engineers with experience in zone fire modelling, fire engineering calculations, fire risk assessments and developing fire engineering solutions. He also has considerable experience in the specification and supervision of CFD modelling and engineering test programs.

He has provided advice to loss adjusters, lawyers, P&I clubs, insurers, advocates and large corporations and prepared reports and expert memorandums of agreement for use in the Court of Session, Sheriff Court and High Court in Scotland; High Court in England and Arbitrations.

Frank has been involved in forensic investigation on a full time basis for over 6 years during which time he has investigated about 300 incidents. These include determination of cause and origin of fires and explosions in domestic commercial and industrial buildings, container ships, heavy lift and bulk carriers, product tankers, luxury yachts and tug boats. Prior to this Frank worked as a specialist consultant investigating failures within the building industry and for twelve years was Managing Director of a manufacturing and distribution company. He has experience in investigation of failure of piped services, escapes of water and oil, heating appliances and heating systems, machinery failure and structural collapse.

Frank has carried out investigations in many European countries, the Middle East, Asia and North and South America.Frank holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree with Honours in Building Engineering from the University of Liverpool and Master of Science degree in Fire Investigation for Practitioners from Anglia Ruskin University. He has presented papers on fire investigation to students of Fire Engineering at Edinburgh University, and various maritime organisations. He has advised and reported on incidents to loss adjusters and insurers, solicitors and counsel, P&I clubs and their members.
